As HM&M’s Managing Partner, Susan oversees the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of one of Dallas-Fort Worth’s fastest-growing full-service accounting and advisory firms. With nearly 40 years of industry experience, she continues to provide clients across various industries with complex tax planning, compliance, and consultancy services. Susan’s commitment to excellence extends to her lifelong dedication to service through leadership roles with numerous professional and community organizations.
What excited you about joining Springline?
I’m excited by the opportunity to retain HM&M’s stellar reputation, our talented team, and collaborative workplace culture and simultaneously acquire the investments needed to provide an even higher quality and broader array of services to our clients. Our new partnership is a win for all of us – HM&M, Springline, and our clients.
Aside from family and friends, what’s the one thing you can’t live without?
The combination of a good book and even better dark chocolate – outside of tax season, of course!
What’s one of your favorite career moments?
One of my most meaningful moments was passing the CPA exam. First, because the right of passage for every accountant was complete for me. But more importantly, I started my second career after spending 18 years in industry with a national retailer. As a result, I had a very clear understanding of what the milestone meant for me, my family, and the future clients I hoped to serve. It’s been all I had imagined and more.
What unique perspective do you bring to Springline?
In a career spanning nearly 40 years serving industry and HM&M, I have seen our work evolve in truly remarkable ways. In fact, I started my journey with HM&M as an intern. At that point in our history, our firm was comprised of roughly 25 employees. Over the last two decades, I have been proud to work alongside my fellow team members to grow our firm to more than 120 employees. I’m grateful for all we have built together and I know the best is yet to come.
What’s your vision for Springline in the next five and/or 20 years?
Over the course of the next five years, I hope to see the HM&M and Springline partnership continue to grow to provide the high quality, complex tax planning, compliance and consultancy services our clients demand and deserve. Together, we are well positioned to adapt to an ever-changing economic landscape and meet the needs of all of our clients.
